Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 2025 Review

I’ve spent three solid weeks with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra 2025 as my daily driver and the verdict is clear — this isn’t a revolution, it’s a refinement. The S24 Ultra was already close to perfection, but Samsung has gone back, studied the few flaws it had, and fixed almost all of them. The result is the most polished, most complete Android flagship you can buy right now.

Design and In-Hand Feel: Flat is Justice

The first thing you’ll notice is the design. Samsung has finally gone all-in on a truly flat 6.9-inch display. The S Pen glides across the glass without interruption and the titanium frame gives it that premium density you expect from a top-tier phone.

Samsung also listened to the feedback about the S24 Ultra’s sharp corners. The S25 Ultra keeps the flat sides but softens the corners just enough to make it feel more comfortable. It’s still a big, two-handed phone but it no longer feels like it’s trying to dig into your palm.

Then there’s the display itself — it’s pure Samsung magic. The new Gorilla Glass Armor 2 with anti-reflection coating almost eliminates glare. Combine that with 2600 nits of peak brightness and a perfectly calibrated AMOLED panel, and you’re looking at the best screen on any smartphone today.

Performance: The Snapdragon 8 Elite Takes Over

Under the hood sits the new Snapdragon 8 Elite, Samsung’s tuned version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Paired with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and ultra-fast UFS 4.0 storage, it flies through everything. Apps open instantly, animations are fluid and even the heaviest multitasking doesn’t slow it down.

But this power comes at a cost. The chip runs warm during intense gaming or 4K video recording. The larger vapor-chamber cooling system keeps things under control, yet you’ll still feel the heat on the back during extended sessions.

Samsung’s One UI 7 is cleaner and smarter than ever. “Galaxy AI” finally feels useful instead of gimmicky. Features like Live Translate during calls, instant AI summaries for voice notes and improved Circle to Search make daily use genuinely smoother. Integration between Bixby and Google’s Gemini AI is seamless and quick.

Camera: Subtle Changes, Major Results

Samsung didn’t overhaul the camera hardware but refined what mattered most. The main 200 MP sensor delivers more natural color and cleaner detail thanks to improved processing.

The biggest upgrade comes to the ultrawide and zoom lenses. The new 50 MP ultrawide sensor replaces the old 12 MP one, finally matching the color science of the main lens. Shots are sharper, cleaner and far more detailed — even at the edges.

The 5x periscope zoom also jumps to 50 MP, delivering exceptional clarity at both 5x and 10x levels. While the 100x “Space Zoom” still looks artificial, everything up to 30x is now genuinely usable. Portraits from the 3x lens remain solid and overall image consistency is the best yet on a Galaxy device.

Battery and Charging: Great Endurance, Slow Refuel

With a 5000 mAh battery, endurance is excellent. Even on heavy days filled with calls, social media and photography, you can end the day with around 30–40% left. But there’s one major letdown — Samsung still limits wired charging to 45 W.

In 2025, that feels dated when competitors like Xiaomi and OnePlus are offering 100 W or more. A full charge still takes over an hour, which feels slow for a phone this advanced.

Verdict: Should You Buy It?

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is what the S24 Ultra should have been — the “Pro” version that fixes the small issues and perfects everything else. It’s built like a tank, feels luxurious and delivers the most versatile camera system on Android.

If you already own the S24 Ultra, you can safely skip this generation since the experience is similar. But if you’re using an S23 Ultra, S22 Ultra or any older flagship, the S25 Ultra is the ultimate upgrade. It’s unapologetically large, powerful and premium — the new apex predator in the smartphone jungle.
